At St. Joe, there was more emphasis on notes, bonds, and liens. We have connected the dots between some of the negotiable instruments that we use, and have raised the mark for the promissory note by demonstrating how to connect the promissory note to the bond (that we have lodged in the US Treasury) to make the promissory note a collectible item instead of just a discharge into the future. So, in a round about way we have pointed the promissory note toward a set off instead of just discharge.
Set off, as you know (or if you didn’t know) reduces your accounts to a zero balance in the public accrual accounting system. This adjustment of your accounts to a zero balance keeps you in complete honor in the public venue, and releases any obligation/debt and lien against you. With no one to accuse you (of a debt/sin) you can go on to paradise/ Kentucky or to West Virginia (almost Heaven - thank you Johnny D.)
